This past week I attended my first CMT Annual Symposium since gaining the Chartered Market Technician designation nearly one year ago. It was held in the Convene at 32 Old Slip in the heart of the financial district in lower Manhattan.
Being in this business for nearly 12 years now, I have been to a lot of conferences, trade shows and speaking engagements. None thus far coming anywhere close to the two day event the CMT Association put on last week.
It was almost surreal for me to meet many of the market technicians, industry professionals and pioneers in my field all in the same place. I was able to put faces to Twitter handles and meet guys I have looked up to for years, guys who motivate me to learn more, and advance the discipline of technical analysis and finance. I own their books, read their blogs, watch them on CNBC, and learn all I can from them.
I am going to forget people here, but I wanted to give a quick shout out to some new friends I got to meet, share too many libations with, and get to know in person.
